The SQUAT is a simple movement that we do all the time, getting up from a chair/couch, getting in and out of cars, and with athletes in training and positions of play. However most of us do not realize that we are doing this simple movement incorrectly and therefore not taking full advantage of the benefits that it offers. If any movement of the squat is done inefficiently this can increase the chance of injury. So before we begin doing squats let's first learn how to screen the way the athlete does a squat to check for areas of weakness or mobility issues. And at the end I’ll point out four common mistakes that athletes make while performing a squat.
